Halotherapy in Our Himalayan Salt Caves

Each of our locations offers two different opportunities to unwind and rejuvenate. Try the majestic Community Salt Cave, which is great for larger groups and is open to the public, or our serene Private Cave for smaller groups or for those who want a more personal experience. Whichever you choose, your session is a 45-minute mini-vacation where you can relax in zero gravity reclining chairs in the nervous-system soothing soft pink glow while ingesting all of the Himalayan salt molecules. Our custom-built caves offer state-of-the-art mastery and were skillfully crafted to mimic the salt mines where halotherapy originated–for your enjoyment and wellness. Himalayan Salt Cave FAQ's

Halotherapy refers to the use of salt in a therapeutic setting. It has been used for centuries around the globe. At Oceanair, we use Himalayan salt when delivering halotherapy.

While we cannot make medical claims about halotherapy, in other parts of the world, halotherapy is used as a standard treatment for respiratory conditions like asthma, allergies, emphysema, COPD, and more. It is also used for heart and blood pressure issues, skin conditions, stress and depression, sleep, weight management, and is used in detox and anti-aging treatments.

Himalayan salt is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-viral, anti-microbial, and anti-inflammatory. It gives off negative ions, making it a gentle but powerful natural detoxifier for the body. Its beautiful pink tint comes from the strong mineral content and confirms that it is pure Himalayan salt, which comes from only one mine in the world!

Each of our locations has two salt caves—a larger Community Cave that seats up to 10 people, and a smaller, more intimate Private Cave that seats up to four people. In a Community Cave session, you may be with people you do not know, while in a Private Cave session, you control who is there with you, if anyone. Oceanair may also offer other services and workshops related to halotherapy and Himalayan salt, so please check our website and social media posts regularly for upcoming offerings.

Salt Cave sessions at Oceanair are 45 minutes long.

Salt cave sessions are offered every hour on the hour that we are open. Please see our hours

The temperature and humidity at Oceanair are very carefully controlled to protect the salt and provide maximum release of salt molecules into the air. Therefore, the temperature in the cave may fluctuate and feel cooler in summer and warmer in winter. We recommend bringing a sweater just in case you are chilly. Clean, soft blankets are also provided for guests.

Please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. Please note that shoes are not allowed in the cave, so we recommend wearing comfortable, clean socks. Disposable booties are also available to guests who need them. Please refrain from the use of perfumes or colognes before cave visits.

Every aspect of the caves at Oceanair has been created with your maximum comfort and relaxation in mind. When you arrive, you will sit in a zero-gravity chair—a special type of recliner that removes pressure points that typically press into peoples’ backs. Lean back in total comfort as the soft pink light of the Himalayan salt soothes your nervous system. The air in the cave is saturated with Himalayan salt, so some guests report feeling or tasting salt in their mouths or on their lips. During the session, peaceful music and a gentle narration guides the experience. Many people rest, meditate, or sleep during the session. Talking and electronic devices are discouraged so that you can completely tune in to the session. At the end of the session, the narration lets you know that it is time to come back.

Most people leave a salt cave session feeling very relaxed. Some people feel a bit tired, and may experience a deeper state of sleep that night. Other people feel energized after a session. Some people report feeling just a state of calm but nothing else out of the ordinary. We recommend drinking water to gently flush out any toxins that were released during the session. Many guests enjoy checking out the products available at Oceanair; many of the products available will help extend the benefits of your visit!

Other than feeling very, very relaxed, there are not any known side effects to using the cave. If you are concerned about the safety of halotherapy for you, please consult with your medical provider before visiting.

While we always try to accommodate walk-ins, we are often booked up in advance so we highly recommend reserving space. Please call us or schedule here to confirm the date and time you prefer.

We recommend arriving 5-10 minutes before your session to give you plenty of time to settle in, use the rest room, and acclimate yourself to the experience.

In our Community Cave, once the session has started, no one else can enter the Cave, so if you are late, we will do our best to reschedule you to another session. In the Private Cave and for other sessions, we will do our best to accommodate your adjusted arrival time if the schedule allows. Please call us to let us know if you are running late or your plans have changed.

Oceanair makes every effort to allow maximum flexibility for our guests, yet being able to provide these services to the public requires us to maintain a schedule. Therefore, we do ask for a minimum of 24 hours for changes to the schedule whenever possible. In the event that someone arrives late and a session slot goes empty, less then 24-hour cancellation, or no-shows, Oceanair reserves the right to charge an administration fee up to the price of the session.

Usually Oceanair is able to work with you for group experiences. Please contact us to discuss the details and see if it will be possible.
